Indicative operational assessment

Define the mission

Search airports or capital city centres, then choose a mission and aircraft. The route profile updates here.

Published Range References

Select an aircraft to see its relevant manufacturer reference.

Indicative planning information only. Published ranges are manufacturer reference figures under defined conditions and are not guaranteed mission capability. Actual range is affected by payload, configuration, winds, reserves, weather, airport elevation, temperature, runway performance, routing and regulatory requirements.

Data and planning notes

Search covers 9,511 airports and 200 capital city centres, with an OWAM focus layer for commercial, cargo and business-aviation locations. Airport time zones: exact geo-tz geographic boundaries, with curated major-airport references; daylight saving follows the device’s IANA rules. Airport and code data: OurAirports; capitals, country-name anchors and boundaries: Natural Earth. Verify against current aeronautical publications.

The map begins as an orthographic globe. Route view uses Lambert conformal conic; showing the indicative radius opens a departure-centred azimuthal equidistant view, preserving radial distances from that airport. The full published radius is independent of route distance. Globe and LCC views remain available for the same geographic envelope. Shaded physical relief and ocean bathymetry use public-domain Natural Earth II, reprojected consistently with the route overlays. Relief is cartographic reference only and cannot be used for terrain clearance or navigation. The track is great-circle geometry, not a filed flight plan.
